Originating in Switzerland, they were originally bred for both milk and meat production. We focus on breeding full blood stock from some of the oldest lines traceable back to those Swiss bloodlines. But aren't they the prettiest cows you've ever seen.... and don't you just love their fuzzy ears!!!!!!!
Brownie, above, was our first full blood Braunvieh and she holds a special place in our hearts because of her excellent brood cow abilities and other traits. She is now living on another farm but we get pictures and some of her offspring will be ours! BTW, please don't tell Brownie she isn't a super model, she really believes she is.

We breed to maintain the best original Braunvieh traits.
Our full-blood cow herd has been selected from some of the oldest blood lines in North America and is being crossed to some of the most respected bulls in the breed via AI. We also use ET to perpetuate some of the oldest blood lines which make this breed so great.
Our brood cows are carefully selected and aren't for sale, but we offer their full blood offspring (bull and heifer calves) for sale and trade. Follow our farm facebook page and visit there frequently to see photos and pedigrees of what we have available.

Steers at 13 months have a body weight of around 1300 pounds. The meat shows excellent marbling and places well in tests of tenderness and texture, aroma, fat consistency and maintains high protein, minerals, and vitamins.
Full-blood Braunvieh bulls are often used as sires for crossbreeding, improving conception rates by 7%. Braunvieh cows used in crossbreeding programs improve weaning weights by 5% to 11% over many other cross breeds.
Braunvieh can thrive in all types of topography from Alpine mountainous terrain to arid environments and tropical plains.
